Nepal Shaken: 129 Dead as Earthquake Strikes, Prime Minister Expresses Grief
Patna – Late Friday night, earthquake tremors rattled several states in India, causing a ripple effect that reached the neighboring land of Nepal, where the consequences proved to be harrowing.
The current death toll stands at 129, highlighting the severity of the disaster. Nepal’s Prime Minister, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, expressed deep sorrow for the human and material losses incurred due to the earthquake.
The National Center for Seismology, Nepal, the earthquake, with a magnitude of 6.4, struck at 11:47 pm (1802 GMT) on Friday. Jajarkot, a hilly area with a population of approximately 2 lakhs, bore the brunt of the seismic activity. The most affected areas are the small villages nestled in the hills.
The aftermath of the earthquake in Nepal has left vehicles buried under debris, prompting a surge of concerned individuals to gather at hospitals, desperately searching for their loved ones.
Prime Minister Dahal assured that all necessary facilities would be provided for the treatment of the injured, emphasizing the government’s commitment to addressing the immediate needs of those affected by this tragic event.
