Patna: A new 248-bed Dharamshala is being constructed at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Patna, to accommodate patients and their families. The Bihar government is spearheading the project, which will include a G+4 building spread over 2,868.43 square meters.

The construction, with a total budget of ₹14.85 crore, is progressing rapidly. The facility will feature modern amenities such as lifts, furniture, and dedicated toilets. Additionally, solar panels will be installed on the rooftop for power generation, enhancing the building’s sustainability.

Bihar Health Minister Mangal Pandey assured that the construction work will be completed within the stipulated timeline. Upon completion, the Dharamshala will be handed over to the AIIMS administration, which will be responsible for its operation and maintenance.

Minister Pandey emphasized the importance of the new facility, stating, “People come from across the state and beyond to receive treatment at a major hospital like AIIMS. The Bihar government is committed to providing them with comfortable accommodation. This Dharamshala will significantly ease the stay for patients and their families, particularly those from rural areas.”
