Patna: A new 8-coach Vande Bharat Express train has reached Patna and is scheduled to be inaugurated on June 20 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi through a virtual flag-off ceremony from Siwan. The train, which will operate between Patna’s Pataliputra Junction and Gorakhpur, marks a significant addition to Bihar’s rail infrastructure, especially benefiting passengers from North Bihar.

Currently stationed at the Rajendra Nagar coaching complex for maintenance, the train is expected to begin regular service from June 21. It will run via Muzaffarpur, Motihari, and Bettiah, connecting several key cities along its 400-km route.

The proposed timetable indicates that the train will depart Gorakhpur at 6.30 am, halting at Kaptanganj, Narkatiaganj, Bettiah, Bapudham Motihari, and Muzaffarpur, and possibly Hajipur, before reaching Patliputra station by 1.30 pm. On its return journey, it will leave Patliputra at 2.30 pm and arrive in Gorakhpur by 9.30 pm.

A special inaugural event will be held at Bapudham Motihari station, where the train will be ceremonially welcomed. The local railway administration has already begun preparations for the celebrations at various stations along the route.
