Initially, three of the accused were arrested by the local police, while two others were nabbed later by the NIA on different occasions after it took over the probe in January 2017. The sixth accused surrendered in February 2017. The chargesheet against all accused was filed by the NIA in July 2017. On September 24, 2024, the NIA Court found the accused guilty. Today, the court announced the sentences against them under relevant sections of the IPC, UA(P) Act, Explosive Substances Act, and Railway Act. Patna – The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday chargesheeted one more accused in the 2018 case relating to the abduction and brutal murder of one Naresh Singh Bhokta by the CPI (Maoist) cadres on the suspicion of being a Police informer.

This takes the number of accused chargesheeted in the case (RC-25/2022/NIA/DLI) to nine.

The agency today filed its 3rd Supplementary chargesheet against the accused Gora Yadav @ Anil Yadav @ Golden Ji @ Balveer of Aurangabad district of Bihar under various sections of IPC, Arms Act and UA (P) Act. Gora Yadav was arrested by the NIA on 4th August 2023 for being directly involved in the brutal killing. He was found to be a dreaded naxal cadre, with 18 cases registered against him in various Police stations in the districts of Aurangabad and Gaya.

Bhokta was abducted by cadres of the banned CPI (Maoist) on the directions of their top leadership. He was taken to a so-called Jan Adalat in Aurangabad area, where the kangaroo Court led by Naval Bhuiya, Sub-Zonal Commander, CPI (Maoist), ordered his killing. Naresh Singh Bhokta was murdered on the night of 2nd November 2018 near village Badhai Bigha.

The NIA took up the investigations on 24th June 2022, and found that accused Gora Yadav @ Anil Yadav, along with Vinay Yadav @ Guruji, Naval Bhuiya @ Arjun Bhuiya, Jilebiya Yadav @ Vinay Kumar Yadav, Ramprasad Yadav, Abhijit Yadav, Subedar Yadav, Abhyash Bhuiya, and others, had attended a crucial meeting in the forest of Anjanwa (Gaya). The meeting, convened by accused Pramod Mishra (the then CCM), had decided to eliminate the SPOs, including Naresh Singh Bhokta.

Investigations had revealed that Gora Yadav was a member of CPI (Maoist) and ‘body cover’ (bodyguard) of Sandip Yadav, a SAC member of the outfit. He, along with his co-accused, had committed an act with the intent to strike terror among the people and a section of the society by killing common people.

During the course of the investigations, NIA unearthed the involvement of top CPI (Maoist) commanders, including a Polit Bureau member Pramod Mishra, in the conspiracy behind this brutal killing, committed to terrorise the common people while propagating the false ideology of ‘People’s War’ against the State.

In the instant case, the NIA, in its original Chargesheet on 25th February 2023, had chargesheeted one accused. This was followed by filing of charges against three more persons in June, while another four accused were named in the second Supplementary chargesheet filed in September last year.
