Nishant Kumar Meets JD(U) Leaders at Nitish Kumar’s Holi Gathering, Party Leaders Claim His Political Entry Is Final

Patna: Speculation over Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s son, Nishant Kumar, entering politics intensified on Saturday as senior Janata Dal (United) leaders claimed he will soon join the party. The assertions came after Nishant made a rare public appearance alongside his father during Holi celebrations at the chief minister’s residence at 1, Anne Marg.
JD (U) leaders and workers, who met Nitish Kumar and his son during the festivities, expressed their support for Nishant’s potential political debut. “The special thing today is that Nishant was present with Nitish Kumar. We met him today, and the chief minister himself arranged the meeting,” said a JD (U) leader. “We want Nishant Kumar to enter active politics. He is young, capable, and an engineer. He should contest elections.”
Senior JD (U) leader Jai Kumar Singh went a step further, declaring that Nishant had “entered JD (U) today.” He added, “He touched my feet and greeted me. I told him that his arrival would take JD (U) to greater heights. Formalities will be completed later.”
However, there has been no official statement from Nishant Kumar or Nitish Kumar regarding his political ambitions. Nishant, known for maintaining a low profile, has so far stayed away from active politics, despite persistent speculation over his potential succession.
The Holi event was attended by key figures, including Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha, ministers Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Bijendra Prasad Yadav, and Sunil Kumar, as well as MPs, MLAs, and senior bureaucrats. The presence of Nishant Kumar at the gathering has further fuelled discussions about his possible entry into Bihar’s political landscape.
