Announcing the initiative in a post on social media, the Chief Minister said the project aims to ease the financial burden on rural families during weddings. “Marriage halls will be constructed in all panchayats to facilitate the marriage of daughters from poor families. These halls will be operated by Jeevika Didis,” Kumar wrote.

In another key decision aimed at providing affordable meals, the cabinet reduced the price of food at Didi Ki Rasoi—community kitchens run by Jeevika Didis—from Rs 40 to Rs 20 per meal. The initiative is intended to make nutritious meals more accessible to low-income residents, particularly in rural areas.
