Nitish Cabinet Expansion Today, BJP’s Dilip Jaiswal Resigns as Minister

Patna: The Bihar cabinet is set to expand today at 4 pm, with a formal letter already sent to the Raj Bhavan regarding the development. Meanwhile, BJP state president Dr. Dilip Jaiswal resigned from his ministerial post on Wednesday, citing the party’s “one person, one post” policy.
“I have submitted my resignation to the Chief Minister today. Cabinet expansion is certain—it is the Chief Minister’s prerogative. Caste equations will also be considered in the process,” Jaiswal said.
He also reflected on his tenure in the Revenue Department, stating, “We initiated the survey work despite facing challenges. We digitized 14 crore pages.”
Discussions on cabinet expansion had been ongoing for the past year, with approval finally granted after a core committee meeting with BJP national president JP Nadda on Tuesday. The meeting also deliberated on potential ministerial candidates, with speculation that four to five MLAs from the BJP quota could be inducted into the cabinet.
