Nitish Kumar Launches 72 Projects Worth Rs. 138 Crores in Gopalganj During Pragati Yatra
Gopalganj: In the second phase of Pragati Yatra, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar visited Gopalganj, inaugurating and laying the foundation stones for 72 schemes worth Rs. 138 crores across various blocks in the district. He also inaugurated the ITI building at Kashi Tengrahi in Sidhwalia block, built at a cost of Rs. 21.60 crores, and announced several infrastructure projects aimed at improving education, health, and rural development.
Key Inaugurations and Projects
The Chief Minister inaugurated 61 schemes, including a District Excise Office constructed at a cost of Rs. 3.51 crores and male and female warder barracks at Chanawe Jail, costing Rs. 1.62 crores and Rs. 1.39 crores, respectively. Renovated ponds, health centers, schools, Panchayat Government buildings, and other public infrastructure across the district were also unveiled.
At Karsghat Pakdi Tola in Sidhwalia block, 13 smaller projects worth Rs. 63 lakhs were inaugurated. These included a children’s park, goat and duck sheds, animal shelters, a running track, a library, and streetlights, aimed at improving community living standards.
Inspection of Major Road Projects
Nitish Kumar inspected road projects connecting Mirganj to Sabeya Airport, Mirganj Sabeya bypass, Bairiya bypass, and the Mirganj-Bhore-Pagra road. The Mirganj Sabeya bypass spans 3 km and costs Rs. 130 crores, while the Bairiya bypass measures 5.7 km and costs Rs. 90 crores. The 47-km-long Mirganj-Bhore-Pagra road project is valued at Rs. 250 crores. Additionally, Rs. 12 crores will be spent on constructing an L bridge over the Daha River in Uchkagaon block.
Focus on Development and Greenery
During his visit, the Chief Minister inaugurated a library at Karsghat and promoted Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali by adding fish and ducks to a local pond. He also reviewed stalls set up by various departments to assess ongoing developmental work.
Officials Present at the Event
The visit saw the participation of several key officials, including Sugarcane Minister Krishna Nandan Paswan, SC-ST Welfare Minister Janak Ram, Education Minister Sunil Kumar, Principal Secretary of Education Department S Siddharth, Principal Secretary of Health Department Pratyaya Amrit, ADGP Kundan Krishnan, and Principal Secretary of Road Construction Department Mihir Singh. These officials provided updates on the progress of the schemes and ongoing projects.
Nitish Kumar emphasized the importance of timely completion of all projects and directed officials to expedite work, ensuring better infrastructure and facilities for the people of Gopalganj.
