The 13th Integrated Ratings of 63 Distribution Utilities, the 4th edition of the Consumer Services Rating of DISCOMs (CSRD) report covering performance of DISCOMs, and the first edition of the Distribution Utilities Ranking (DUR) Report for FY 2023-24 were launched during the Regional Power meeting in New Delhi on February 20.

Patna: North Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (NBPDCL) has been awarded an A grade in the Consumer Service Rating 2023-24 released by the Union Ministry of Power. The rating reflects the company’s efforts to provide reliable and uninterrupted electricity services to consumers.

The grading was based on performance across four key parameters: operational reliability, connection and service facilitation, metering-billing and collection, and fault rectification along with grievance redressal.

Last year, NBPDCL had secured a B rating. The improvement is attributed to the company’s ongoing efforts to introduce innovation and transparency in its services, ensuring better consumer satisfaction. The discom has focused on integrating advanced technologies and implementing structural reforms to enhance power distribution efficiency.

In addition to this achievement, NBPDCL has made a significant leap in the 13th annual integrated rating by Power Finance Corporation Limited, ranking 24th among 52 discoms across India. The company’s rating improved from C in the previous financial year to B, with its score rising from 30.8 to 52.9. The report highlighted this progress as “improving,” citing enhancements in financial and operational performance, improved billing and collection efficiency, and a reduction in aggregate technical and commercial losses.
