OTA Gaya Holds Historic Passing Out Parade for Short Service Commission Officers

Gaya/ Patna: For the first time, the Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Gaya hosted a passing out parade for cadets who completed the Short Service Commission Technical (Male) and Short Service Commission Technical (Female) courses, marking a significant milestone in the academy’s history. A total of 143 male cadets from SSC-Tech 62 and 18 female cadets from SSC-Tech 33 were commissioned as officers in the Indian Army.

The event, held as part of the Spring 2025 batch, showcased the cadets’ discipline and dedication through a meticulously executed parade. The measured steps of the newly commissioned officers reflected their preparedness to uphold the nation’s security under all circumstances.

Lieutenant General RC Tiwari, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Eastern Command, along with Lieutenant General Sukriti Singh Dahiya, Commandant of OTA Gaya, took the salute at the parade. Lieutenant General Tiwari also inspected the parade and commended the officers for their discipline, enthusiasm, and courage.

The passing out officers, having completed nearly a year of rigorous training, realized their long-cherished dream of joining the Indian Army. Their parents, witnessing the momentous occasion, expressed immense pride and joy.

Following the parade, the piping ceremony marked the final step in their transition from cadets to officers. During this emotional tradition, parents affixed the rank insignia on their children’s shoulders, symbolizing their formal induction into the Indian Army. The moment carried deep significance, as those who had once saluted their instructors were now to be saluted as commissioned officers.
