Over 1.3 Lakh Transferred Teachers Across Bihar to Be Allotted New Schools by June 20, Says ACS S Siddharth

Patna: Over 1.3 Lakh teachers who have recently been transferred across Bihar will receive their new school postings by June 20 and are expected to join their respective schools by June 30, according to the state’s Additional Chief Secretary of the Education Department, S Siddharth.

Speaking during a weekly public outreach initiative, ACS Siddharth clarified that transferred teachers do not need to be formally relieved from their current schools. Instead, they will automatically be relieved upon joining their new institutions. He emphasised that the allocation process is being conducted with full transparency and urged teachers not to visit the District Education Officer’s office unnecessarily.

Responding to complaints raised by students and parents regarding the non-availability of textbooks before the start of the summer holidays, Siddharth expressed dissatisfaction and assured that the books would be distributed promptly after the break. “I will personally review the situation to ensure a timely resolution,” he said, also committing to address the concerns raised by DIET lecturers.

Siddharth offered a range of suggestions to parents, encouraging them to establish a dedicated study area at home and to actively participate in parent-teacher meetings. “This not only keeps parents informed about their child’s academic progress but also helps them understand which subjects the child may need additional support in,” he noted.

He also recommended that students recognised as ‘Student of the Week’ be honoured in the presence of their parents to boost their confidence. While homework has been made available ahead of the vacation—also uploaded online—Siddharth encouraged families to use the break to spend quality time together. For those not travelling, he suggested making use of summer camps being organised in schools.
