Over 1 Lakh Candidates Pass Bihar Police Constable Recruitment Exam; Results Posted on New Website
Patna: The Central Selection Board of Constables (CSBC) has announced the results for the Bihar Police Constable recruitment exam, with 1,07,079 candidates successfully clearing the examination. The recruitment drive aims to fill 21,391 constable vacancies across Bihar.
The exam, which took place on multiple dates in August 2024, was attended by approximately 12 lakh candidates out of 17.87 lakh applicants. To check the results, candidates can now visit the new official CSBC website at https://csbc.bihar.gov.in. The board had previously issued a notice informing candidates about the website change, which will also serve as the platform for future recruitment notifications and updates.
Originally scheduled for October 1, 2023, the constable recruitment exam was cancelled following a paper leak incident. The Economic Offences Unit (EOU) investigation revealed that the primary suspect, Sanjeev Mukhiya, led the operation. Mukhiya’s gang is accused of intercepting question papers intended for Motihari in Patna, tampering with the materials, and distributing answer keys in exchange for money.
The investigation also revealed that Mukhiya’s group travelled to Kolkata, where the exam papers were printed, to manipulate the distribution process. As a result of the tampering, the exam was rescheduled and conducted under heightened security measures.
Despite the earlier setbacks, CSBC’s updated recruitment process, including the introduction of the new website for results, underscores the board’s commitment to transparency and fairness in the recruitment process.
