Darbhanga: The Revenue and Land Reforms Department of Bihar distributed home land documents to over 600 homeless families in Darbhanga on Saturday, under the Abhiyan Basera 2 scheme. The event was held at the auditorium in Laheriyasarai and led by Revenue Minister Sanjay Saraogi. He was joined by Urban Development Minister Jibesh Kumar and Rajya Sabha MP Dharmashila Gupta.
The scheme aims to provide land to families who do not have a place to live. The programme saw a large turnout, with many villagers and beneficiary families present. Several people expressed happiness and relief after receiving their documents. The district administration supervised the event.
Speaking at the event, Minister Saraogi said that the scheme reflects Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s vision of ensuring no poor family is left without a home. He added that once families receive land, they will also be able to benefit from other government schemes like the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and Jal-Nal Yojana.
Minister Jibesh Kumar said the scheme helps families become part of the social mainstream and build a better future. MP Dharmashila Gupta praised the effort, saying it gives people the right to live with dignity. The Additional District Magistrate (Revenue) welcomed the guests by presenting them with plants. Many officials from different departments were also present at the event.
