Pappu Yadav Injured by Rocket Spark During Ravana Dahan in Purnia, Currently Under Treatment
Purnia: Independent MP from Purnia, Pappu Yadav, sustained an injury to his right eye during the Ravana Dahan program on Saturday. A strong spark from a rocket hit his face while he was lighting the effigy of Ravana. He was immediately rushed to Max 7 Hospital for treatment and later returned to his home in Khurda, Madhepura, where he is currently resting and recovering. He has stated that he is feeling better after receiving medical care.
The incident occurred while Pappu Yadav was lighting rockets to burn the effigies of Ravana, Kumbhakarna, and Meghnath. A spark struck him twice—first during the burning of Ravana and again while lighting Kumbhakarna’s effigy. Supporters quickly came to his aid, and he was taken to the hospital for immediate treatment.
The video of the incident has since gone viral on social media, raising concerns about the safety arrangements made by the organizing committee. Yadav confirmed that the spark caused burning sensations in his right eye and face, but doctors have provided treatment and prescribed medication.
Pappu Yadav attended the Ravana Dahan program as the chief guest in Ward 8 of Maranga in Purnia, where he honored child performers and addressed the crowd before the unfortunate accident occurred.
