Pappu Yadav Requests Z+ Security After Death Threats, Claims Ignored by Authorities
Patna: After receiving death threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, Purnia MP Pappu Yadav has requested Z+ security but claims his pleas have gone unheard. Currently in Jharkhand, Yadav stated he attempted to meet Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to discuss security concerns, yet received no response despite reaching out to the Chief Secretary and the CM’s personal secretary.
Yadav expressed frustration over the lack of support, noting that many who don’t face genuine threats are granted security, while he faces continuous threats. He said he has also appealed to Home Minister Amit Shah and the Bihar state government, yet feels neglected due to being “away from power.”
In response to the threats, Yadav has been in contact with Bihar’s DGP, Purnia IG, and SP, reiterating his concern that those not in government circles are often overlooked. He stressed that security protocols should prioritise genuine threats.
The threats reportedly stem from a statement Yadav made about Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang following the October 12 murder of former MLA Baba Siddiqui in Mumbai. Yadav recently met Siddiqui’s son Zeeshan in Mumbai and pledged his support to Salman Khan, though he was unable to meet the actor directly.
