Pappu Yadav Says he was Injured, Not Insulted, After Being Stopped from Joining Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Prasad yadav During Bihar Protest

Pappu Yadav clarified he felt no insult after being prevented from boarding an open truck with Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav during the Mahagathbandhan protest, saying he only suffered a minor back injury in the scuffle.

Patna: Independent MP from Purnia, Pappu Yadav, has clarified that he was not insulted after being stopped from joining Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav during the Mahagathbandhan protest in Patna.

Speaking on July 9, Pappu said, “There was no insult. However, I was slightly injured on my back in the scuffle.”

The incident took place when leaders of the Mahagathbandhan were protesting against the voter list revision in Bihar. Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav led the march on an open truck from the Income Tax roundabout. As Pappu Yadav tried to climb onto the truck, security personnel stopped him by waving their hands. Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar was also not allowed to board.

Pappu downplayed the matter, saying one leader from each party was on the truck and he is not part of the alliance. “What kind of insult is this?” he asked.

He added that nothing is bigger than the public and said, “Even if insulted a lakh times, it is acceptable. But one has to think about what the people with whom you have a relationship want.”

Pappu also spoke about his long-standing ties with Seemanchal and Kosi regions and his ideological relationship with Congress. He said it is unfortunate that even after helping people during Covid or floods, his efforts are treated as zero.
