Parent-Teacher Meetings to be Held in Bihar Govt Schools on May 31: Focus on Student Learning & Engagement

Parent-teacher meetings are scheduled for May 31st in government schools across the state, aiming to inform parents about school support and empower them to facilitate their children’s continuous learning, especially during the summer holidays.

Patna: Government schools across the state are set to host parent-teacher meetings on May 31. The initiative, themed “Padhenge, Badhenge Aur Sikhenge Hum (We will read, grow, and learn),” aims to inform parents about the support available from schools and to empower them to facilitate continuous learning for their children during the summer holidays.

The Education Department stated that the primary objective of these meetings is to apprise parents of the resources and assistance provided by schools. Additionally, the meetings will focus on equipping and educating parents to ensure their children continue learning actively during the ongoing summer break.

On the day of the meeting, class teachers will welcome parents in their respective classrooms. An exhibition of government-provided educational aids, including student TLM (Teaching Learning Material) kits, FLN (Foundational Literacy and Numeracy) kits, textbooks, practice books, and diaries, will be showcased.

Parents will also be informed about the homework assigned to their children for the summer vacation. Discussions will include information on the “Every Home, A School” initiative and a broader conversation about the holistic development of children.

Parents will be encouraged to create a dedicated reading corner for their children at home. This designated space should include a comfortable seating arrangement, such as a chair or a mat on the floor. Posters, study routines, and other motivational materials should be affixed to the wall to foster a conducive learning environment. Old boxes or cartons can be repurposed for storing books. During study time, parents are advised to turn off distractions like television and mobile phones. The meetings will conclude with a vote of thanks to all participating parents.

Key discussion points with parents will include:

* The child’s academic progress and school attendance.

* Regular cleanliness of the child’s uniform, nails, and hair.

* The child’s diet, nutrition, and behavior at school.
