Bagaha/ Patna: The Regional Passport Office, Patna, on Tuesday launched a three-day Passport Seva Mobile Van Camp at the Subdivision Office Complex in Bagaha, West Champaran. The camp, which will run from April 22 to 24, was formally inaugurated by Swadha Rizvi, Regional Passport Officer, in the presence of local police and administrative officials.

The initiative comes in response to a sharp rise in passport applications from the region and ahead of the planned opening of a Post Office Passport Seva Kendra (POPSK) in the Valmikinagar Lok Sabha constituency. Bagaha has emerged as one of the top passport-seeking districts after Siwan, Gopalganj, and Purnia.

“This is the ninth mobile passport camp organised since April 2024, and it reflects our commitment to improving accessibility for citizens in remote and high-demand areas,” said Rizvi at the inauguration.

A total of 55 appointment slots will be made available per day during the camp. Applications for fresh and re-issue passports will be accepted, but requests for Police Clearance Certificates (PCC), previously held applications, or walk-ins without prior online appointments will not be entertained.

Applicants are required to register online via www.passportindia.gov.in, complete the application, pay the prescribed fee, and appear in person at the camp with all original and photocopied documents. Photograph and fingerprint verification will be carried out on-site.

The mobile camp is part of a broader strategy to decentralise passport services in Bihar and cater to growing demand in underserved regions. With Bagaha emerging as a passport hotspot, officials say the establishment of a permanent POPSK in the area is under active consideration.
