Patna – BN Collegiate Students Accuse Teacher of Misconduct; DM Forms Inquiry Committee
Patna – Students at BN Collegiate in Patna have raised allegations of misconduct against a teacher, triggering a protest at the school gate. In response, District Magistrate Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh swiftly established a three-member inquiry committee to investigate the matter. The DM emphasized the gravity of the accusations, acknowledging the sensitivity of the situation.
On Ashok Rajpath’s BN Collegiate campus, a group of students caused a disturbance at the school gate in the evening, alleging inappropriate behavior by a teacher. Subsequently, they filed a formal complaint with the district control room, prompting an inquiry into the teacher’s conduct. The students submitted their complaint to the disciplinary officer appointed by the district magistrate, Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh, who promptly formed the three-member inquiry committee.
The investigative team comprises Deputy Superintendent of Police Abhilasha Sharma, District Program Officer of ICDS Abha Prasad, and District Program Officer of Finance and Planning Poonam Kumari. The committee is expected to submit its report to the district magistrate within 24 hours. Dr. Singh assured that appropriate action would be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
The school management disclosed that some students had been neglecting regular classes, resulting in disciplinary measures, including a week-long suspension process. Following discussions with two students and their parents, they assured compliance with regular attendance in the future, and permission to attend school was reinstated.
The accused teacher, who has been teaching since 2017, came under scrutiny after parents visited the school on Thursday afternoon, expressing concerns about external students causing disruptions. However, the students did not provide any written documentation to support their claims during this visit, according to the principal.
