Patna DM Pushes for Speedy Execution of Key Infrastructure Projects

Patna: In a meeting held at the Collectorate Auditorium, Patna’s District Magistrate, Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh, emphasized the steady progress of state-funded and centrally-sponsored infrastructure projects in the district. He praised the efforts of Sub-Divisional Officers (SDOs) and Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) in addressing disruptions, urging officials and agencies to expedite implementation.

Monitoring and Compliance

Dr. Singh highlighted the importance of regular site inspections, which he conducts with the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP). “Disruptions are promptly resolved, and we ensure progress is regularly monitored,” he said. He directed all executing agencies to adhere to safety and environmental standards during construction, stressing the importance of following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Review of Key Projects

The meeting included a review of more than 30 ongoing projects, with instructions issued to accelerate progress. Land acquisition and encroachment issues were discussed, with the DM urging swift resolution.

– Danapur-Bihta Elevated Corridor:
Compensation amounting to ₹133.23 crore has been distributed to 824 landowners for 104.005 acres of acquired land across 22 villages. Encroachments have been cleared under the SDO’s supervision.

– Patna-Gaya-Dobhi Road (NH-83):
Connectivity work has been completed, and no obstructions remain at the construction site.

– Bakhtiyarpur-Mokama Road (NH-31):
Compensation disbursement is ongoing, with SDOs tasked to monitor progress.

– Bharat Mala Project (NH-119D, Amas-Ramnagar):
Land acquisition across 12 villages is advancing steadily, and officials have been directed to expedite actions.

– Patna Metro Rail Project:
Dr. Singh noted significant progress, with all major disruptions resolved and land acquisition cases settled. Compensation payments are being fast-tracked.

– Ring Road Projects:
Sections between Kanhauli-Sherpur and Kanhauli-Ramnagar are progressing without delays. Notifications for land acquisition are underway.

Addressing Encroachment and Land Acquisition

Officials were directed to clear encroachments and submit proposals for the transfer of government and Bakasht land without delay. Pending compensation payments and land acquisition cases were prioritized, with the DM instructing the relevant authorities to expedite processes.

Focus on Collaboration

The DM called for stronger coordination between agencies, citing the need for seamless collaboration between NHAI, Railways, and district administration for ongoing projects. The importance of engaging stakeholders and resolving issues proactively was emphasized.

Updates on Petroleum Storage and CNG Facilities

Progress was also reviewed for the development of an IOCL petroleum storage terminal in Bihta and GAIL’s offices near Sammanpura. The DM directed officials to liaise with departments to ensure timely resolution of land-related matters.

Commitment to Development

Dr. Singh reiterated the administration’s commitment to efficient implementation of government schemes. “The successful execution of developmental and welfare projects is our top priority,” he stated.

The meeting was attended by senior officials from NHAI, Railways, and other departments, with participation from SDOs and Circle Officers via video conferencing.
