Patna Expects Over Rs 2700 Crore Business on Dhanteras and Diwali; Gold, Silver, and Vehicles in High Demand

Patna District Intensifies Crackdown on Illegal Firecracker Trade Ahead of Diwali

Patna: This festive season, Patna is set to witness record business transactions, with projections estimating over ₹2700 crore worth of trade during Dhanteras and Deepawali. Last year, the city saw approximately ₹2200 crore in business, with the highest volume in gold and silver. This year, the gold and silver market alone is expected to hit around ₹700 crore.

A leading jewellery showroom manager revealed that the price of gold has risen by 15% this year, which has led to a slightly slower market. However, pre-bookings are strong. “If sales match last year’s, we anticipate business worth ₹600-700 crore in gold and silver alone,” he said. Last year, ₹500 crore worth of gold and silver jewellery and ₹70-80 crore in diamonds and platinum were sold in Patna.

The automobile sector is also seeing a boom this festive season. By October 28, more than 8000 two-wheelers and around 2500 four-wheelers had already been booked in Patna.

For four-wheelers, Tata Punch and Nexon are the most popular models, with significant pre-bookings.

Last year, more than 10,000 two-wheelers and 2000 four-wheelers were sold during the festive season.

In the electronics market, a sharp rise in demand is also expected. Discounts on mobile phones and laptops are boosting sales, with an estimated ₹150 crore business anticipated this year, up from ₹120-130 crore last year. “Customers are responding well to the offers, and we are seeing more pre-bookings than ever before,” informed a shop manager.
