Patna Gears Up for New Year Celebrations with Record Crowds and Upgraded Attractions

Patna: Patna is set to welcome the New Year with extensive preparations across its top spots, including Sanjay Gandhi Biological Park (Patna Zoo), Marine Drive, and Digha Ghat. The Bihar government and tourism department have implemented enhanced facilities and safety measures to ensure a smooth experience for visitors. Special events, new attractions, and vibrant settings are expected to draw thousands of locals and tourists.
Patna Zoo anticipates a record turnout of 30,000 to 35,000 visitors on January 1, with additional ticket counters and increased prices of Rs 100 for adults and Rs 50 for children for the day. The zoo has introduced new attractions such as a water park with 13 waterfalls, a leopard and fishing cat enclosure, and recent additions like zebras and a black panther. Medical support, a helpline, and a “Help You” center will be in place to ensure visitor safety.
Marine Drive and Digha Ghat are expected to attract the largest gatherings, with security arrangements managed by the district administration. Visitors can enjoy picnics along the Ganga, safe boating experiences, and dining at the MV Ganga Floating Restaurant, offering meals at Rs 250 per person. Other attractions include speedboat rides and a scenic ambiance for family outings.
Eco Park, while expecting smaller crowds compared to previous years, has been refreshed with new boating facilities and spruced-up surroundings. Ticket prices on New Year’s Day will be Rs 50 for adults and Rs 25 for children, with additional counters set up to manage visitors efficiently.
With heightened security, upgraded amenities, and festive energy across the city, Patna promises a lively and memorable New Year celebration for everyone. From lush parks to the serene riverbanks, the city offers a diverse range of experiences to kick off 2025 in style.
