Patna: Girl Shot Dead, Body Dumped Near Drain in Mokama’s Ghoswari Area

Patna: In a chilling incident that has raised questions over public safety in Bihar, an unidentified young girl was found murdered near Shahari village under the Ghoswari police station limits in Mokama on Sunday afternoon. Locals discovered her body lying near a drain, following which they immediately alerted the police.
Police officials said the girl had been shot four times in the head, indicating a targeted and brutal killing. Two spent cartridges were recovered from the scene, suggesting that the assailants fired from close range. The victim was dressed in green jeans and a kurti, but her identity remains unknown as of now.
“A forensic team has visited the crime scene and collected evidence. The body has been sent for post-mortem,” said a police official at the scene.
Taking cognizance of the gravity of the case, Barh Subdivision Police Officer Rakesh Kumar also reached the location. “We are investigating the matter from every possible angle. Technical support is being used to help identify the girl and trace the perpetrators,” he said.
Preliminary suspicion suggests that the murder may have occurred elsewhere and the body was later dumped near the drain. Police are checking records of missing girls in Mokama and adjoining areas as part of the investigation.
