Patna: Lawyers at the Patna High Court Advocates Association will now be able to use Wi-Fi within the court premises. The new Wi-Fi facility and the official website of the association were inaugurated on Friday. This will help advocates access online legal resources and work faster.
At the same event, it was announced that the posthumous assistance amount for advocates has been increased from Rs 50,000 to Rs 1,00,000. This means families of deceased lawyers will now receive double the support they used to get earlier. Many advocates said this was a good step towards their welfare.
The program was led by Association President Advocate Shailendra Kumar Singh. Hon’ble Justice Alok Kumar Sinha, Justice Saurendra Pandey, and Justice Soni Srivastava were present as chief guests. More than 200 lawyers, including senior advocates Yogesh Chandra Verma and Ashok Kumar, attended the ceremony.
The event was organised on the birth anniversary of Pandit Tarakant Jha. After the inauguration, many advocates said these new facilities will make their work easier and give confidence to their families about support in difficult times.
