Patna High Court Orders Preservation of CCTV Footage From BPSC Exam Centres

Patna High Court

Patna: The Patna High Court has directed the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) and the state government to preserve CCTV footage from examination centres where the 70th BPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination was held. The court has also granted time to both parties to file their responses, with the next hearing scheduled for February 28.

The directive came during a hearing on a petition filed by the Anand Legal Aid Forum Trust. A division bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Ashutosh Kumar and Justice Parth Sarthi allowed the petitioner additional time to reply to the affidavits submitted by the state government and BPSC.

The legal challenge was initially taken to the Supreme Court, but the apex court declined to entertain the petition and advised the petitioners to approach the Patna High Court instead.

Earlier, on January 16, a single bench of Justice Arvind Singh Chandel heard a separate petition filed by Pappu Kumar and others regarding the BPSC examination. While the court did not halt the declaration of results, it ruled that the final outcome of the case would determine the fate of the exam process.
