Patna High Court Rejects Plea for BPSC 70th PT Re-Examination

Patna: The Patna High Court on Friday dismissed a petition seeking the cancellation and re-examination of the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) 70th Preliminary Test (PT), delivering a setback to candidates who had been demanding a fresh exam.

A bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Ashutosh Kumar and Justice Parth Sarathi had reserved its verdict on March 19 after hearing arguments from both sides. The petitioners alleged irregularities and malpractice, while the state government and the BPSC refuted the claims as baseless.

Controversy Over the Exam

The 70th BPSC PT exam was conducted across various districts of Bihar on December 13, 2024. During the examination, chaos erupted at the Bapu Examination Centre in Patna, with candidates alleging a paper leak and delay in distribution.

Three days later, based on a report from the district administration, the BPSC cancelled the exam conducted at Bapu Examination Centre, citing disruptions caused by anti-social elements. However, despite this cancellation, a section of candidates has continued to demand the nullification of the entire exam.

Since December 18, protestors have been staging demonstrations in Gardanibagh, urging authorities to conduct the exam afresh.
