Patna Launches ‘Shakti Dal’ Teams to Keep Women Safe Near Schools and Colleges

Patna Police has formed ‘Shakti Dal’ teams to protect women and girls at busy places, schools, and colleges in the city

Patna: Patna Police has started a special team called ‘Shakti Dal’ to ensure the safety of women and girls. This team will be active outside schools, colleges, coaching centres, and crowded areas where women go regularly. The aim is to make women feel safe and confident while moving around the city.

Two separate teams have been formed under Shakti Dal. Each team includes women police officers and other female personnel. They will begin work in nine places, including Patna Women’s College, Mount Carmel School, JD Women’s College, Notre Dame Academy, AN College, Musallahpur Haat, Bhikhana Pahari, NIT Ghat, and St. Xavier’s School.

The police said these teams will be especially active when schools and colleges open and close. They will talk to girl students and women to understand their problems and provide proper guidance and counselling. Women can also call the team leaders directly to share their concerns, and their identity will be kept secret.

Team One will be led by Police Inspector Afsa Parveen (9296598170) and Team Two will be led by Police Sub-Inspector Mala Sharma (9296580210). Patna Police has appealed to all women and girls to fearlessly share their problems, assuring them that the police are always ready to support them. More Shakti Dal teams will soon be formed in other parts of the city to keep women safe everywhere.
