Patna: Literary Fiesta Takes Over Gandhi Maidan with Shabd Parv Book Fair

PATNA – A literary and cultural extravaganza, the Shabd Parv book fair cum cultural festival, is currently underway at Gandhi Maidan. Book enthusiasts have the opportunity to explore and purchase their favorite literary works while also enjoying a vibrant display of cultural programs. Organized by Sahitya Darpan (P&D), this fair is scheduled to run until November 8th, offering a diverse range of literary treasures.

Featuring a total of 95 stalls, the fair boasts an impressive collection of literature, stories, essays, novels, biographies, poetry, satire, and religious texts. Sunil Kumar Singh, the fair manager, shared that renowned publishers from across the country, as well as local publishers, have actively participated in this literary celebration. The primary aim is to provide a unified platform where children, seniors, and literary enthusiasts can easily access their favorite books.

Sunil Kumar, the treasurer, mentioned that the event witnessed a notable statement from media consultant Geeta Sinha, focusing on the bright future of children. The fair also featured a presentation by flute player Jeet.

Kamlesh Kumar, owner of Metro Books Corner, highlighted the diverse offerings at his stall, including books for competitive exams such as BPSC, UPSC, Bank, Railways, SSC, and more. Additionally, he is extending discounts ranging from 10% to 40% on these educational materials. Kumar expressed satisfaction with the initial response, stating that the fair has garnered positive feedback from visitors.

The book fair showcases the presence of esteemed entities such as the National Book Trust of India, Sasta Sahitya Mandal, Setu Prakashan, Vagdevi Prakashan, Uphaar Prakashan, Jagriti Prakashan, Kabir Prakashan, Rajpal & Sons, Ibadan Sharia, TMH Metro, National Book Enterprises, Vani Prakashan, Maple Press, Sahitya Prakashan Sarovar, Publications Division, V&S Publications, Diamond Pocket Books, Prabhakar Prakashan, and Geeta Press.

Their stalls contribute to the diverse and enriching literary experience for all attendees at the Shabd Parv book fair cum cultural festival.
