Patna: Police are searching for Shishir Sahu, the son of Patna Mayor Sita Sahu, after he fled during a raid on Sunday. The raid took place at their residence in the Maharajganj area under Alamganj police station, triggering chaos when supporters gathered to protest the police action.
Officers from multiple police stations arrived at the mayor’s house in the morning to arrest Shishir. His supporters blocked police vehicles and misbehaved with a female inspector present at the scene, creating enough disruption for Shishir to escape.
The action follows an incident during a recent Patna Municipal Corporation meeting where Shishir allegedly clashed with a former mayor. A case was registered at Gandhi Maidan police station regarding the confrontation. Questions have since been raised about how Shishir attended the meeting despite not being an elected member of the corporation.
Police teams continue to search for Shishir at possible hideouts as the controversy deepens around his involvement in municipal affairs and the confrontation with officers during the raid.
