Patna: The Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) has dismissed widespread rumours about appointments being made for the post of supervisor, clarifying that no such recruitment process is underway.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the PMC stated that it is not conducting any recruitment drive for any position at present. The clarification comes in response to a forged letter that allegedly announced the reinstatement of an individual to the post of supervisor.
“This letter is entirely false and misleading,” a senior PMC official said, adding that the corporation has taken the matter seriously and lodged a First Information Report (FIR) against unidentified individuals. The case, which may involve attempts to defraud citizens by promising fake job opportunities, is now under police investigation.
The civic body has urged the public to stay alert and rely only on the official website or authorised communication channels of the Patna Municipal Corporation for accurate information related to job vacancies. It further warned that anyone found involved in spreading such misinformation will face strict legal consequences.
“We appeal to the public not to fall prey to such scams. Any attempt to mislead people in the name of employment will be dealt with firmly,” the official said.
