Patna: Two policemen posted at Nadi police station have been suspended after a video surfaced showing them abusing, assaulting and misbehaving with a young bike rider on the Kachi Dargah–Bidupur Six Lane stretch.
The clip, dated November 14, circulated widely on social media, prompting senior officials to order swift disciplinary action. The suspended officers have been identified as Sub-Inspector Devkant Bunty and PTC Vishwanath Kumar.
Biker Also Penalised for Stunts
Alongside action against the officers, the police have also penalised the bike rider, 19-year-old Abhishek Rajput, imposing a Rs 7,000 fine for performing stunts and dangerous driving. Rajput later apologised, admitting he had endangered others.
‘I Won’t Repeat This,’ Says Teen Rider
In the video, the officers are seen stopping Rajput’s motorcycle. When the bike slows but does not halt immediately, one officer begins hurling abuses while another slaps him without hesitation.
Rajput said he accepts his mistake. “The police caught me while I was doing a stunt. I will not do stunts from now on. Dangerous stunts can harm others. My challan has also been issued. I apologise,” he said.
Officials said further inquiries are underway.
