Patna : Students from across 40 schools in Patna will get a thrilling preview of the Surya Kiran aerobatic display as they attend a full-dress rehearsal on April 22, a day ahead of the official air show to be held on JP Ganga Path.

The main event, scheduled for April 23, will mark Veer Kunwar Singh’s Shaurya Diwas, commemorating the valour of the 1857 freedom fighter. The Indian Air Force’s Surya Kiran team will perform over the iconic stretch near Sabhyata Dwar, honouring the legacy of India’s first war of independence.

The Patna District Education Officer (DEO), Sanjay Kumar, confirmed that students from Classes 8 to 12 from both government and private schools have been invited to attend the rehearsal. School principals have already received official communication regarding participation. Teachers and interested parents are also encouraged to join.

Parking arrangements have been made at Gandhi Maidan, from where attendees will proceed on foot to the air show venue at JP Ganga Path. DPOs Rajkamal (Establishment) and Amrit Kumar (Secondary Education and Literacy) have been appointed as nodal officers for smooth coordination.

Participating institutions include notable schools such as Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Bankipur; Patna Collegiate School; Saint Michael’s High School, Kurji; Saint Xavier’s High School, Gandhi Maidan; and many others across various neighbourhoods including Gardanibagh, Kurji, Mahendru, and Kankarbagh.
