Patna: Patna Municipal Corporation has launched a major drive to fix street lights across the city before the upcoming festival season and during the rainy monsoon months. On the orders of the Municipal Commissioner, 30 teams were sent out from the Maurya Lok headquarters on Friday to work across different parts of the city.
Each team has been given a specific ward to look after and will visit daily to check and repair street lights. The teams include electricians and supervisors and are fully equipped with vehicles, ladders, lights, and other tools needed to carry out immediate repairs.
The work will be overseen by Executive Engineer (Electricity) Bablu Kumar Gupta, who will make sure the repairs are done on time. The teams will begin their ward visits at 9am every day and will also respond to complaints made by residents. Special staff have also been assigned to handle problems on the city’s main roads.
People living in Patna have been asked to report any street light problems by calling the helpline number 155304. The Municipal Corporation has promised quick action to make sure all streets are well-lit and safe ahead of the festivals.
