Patna Smart City's ICCC Wins Prestigious SCOCH Award for Outstanding Performance

Patna: In a momentous achievement, the Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC) of the Patna Smart City project has been selected for the prestigious SCOCH Award, recognizing its exceptional performance on a national scale. The Scotch Award 2023 ceremony, set to take place in Delhi on February 10, will honor Patna Smart City for its contributions to enhancing urban living and governance.

The recognition comes as Patna Smart City secures its place among the distinguished recipients of India’s Honest Independent Honor Scotch Award-2023, underscoring the city’s commitment to innovation and efficiency in urban management.

One of the key initiatives contributing to this accolade is the implementation of the e-challan system through the Integrated Command and Control Center, a project spearheaded by Patna Smart Limited. Both the Redevelopment of Adlatganj Pond and the Integrated Command and Control Center were nominated for the Scotch Award, with all nominated projects making it through the initial selection process. Subsequently, the public had the opportunity to cast their votes, resulting in the recognition of Patna Smart City’s commendable efforts.

The city’s residents have witnessed a positive impact on traffic management through the Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC). The implementation of high-resolution cameras at major intersections and roads has led to increased awareness and adherence to traffic rules among the populace. Common people are now consistently following regulations such as wearing double helmets and seat belts, knowing they are under the watchful eye of the Triple C.

The ICCC’s surveillance system, utilizing advanced technology, monitors traffic violations in real-time. Offenders receive e-challans, which are promptly sent to their mobile numbers. These messages include a link featuring a photograph capturing the violation, along with details of the imposed fine.

The introduction of the e-challan system in May 2023 has marked a significant turning point in traffic management, with a total of 275,000 individuals charged for violations. The cumulative penalty amount has reached Rs 29 crore, reflecting the effectiveness of this digital approach in ensuring road safety and rule adherence.

The SCOCH Award, bestowed upon individuals, projects, and institutions that go above and beyond to contribute to India’s progress, reaffirms Patna Smart City’s dedication to creating a better nation. The recognition underlines the city’s commitment to leveraging technology for urban development and governance, setting a benchmark for others to follow.
