Patna: A student preparing for the NEET medical entrance exam in Patna died by suicide on Sunday night. The boy, Aryan Raj, also known as Kitu, was living in a rented room in Jai Villa, South Shivpuri, Shastri Nagar. He had moved to Patna with his cousin to prepare for the NEET exam along with his Intermediate studies.
Aryan was originally from Manpur in Gaya district. His father, Ajit Kumar, is a businessman. Aryan was the eldest son in the family and had a younger brother and an elder sister. According to police, the family did not notice any unusual behaviour before the incident.
Police found a suicide note in Aryan’s room. In the note, he wrote: “Mummy-Papa, don’t trouble Didi and Chiku. Let them do whatever they want. Also tell uncle that he should not put pressure on them. You both stay happy. Yours, Kitu.” The note suggests that Aryan may have been under emotional stress but gave no clear reason for his action.
Shastri Nagar police and a forensic team reached the spot after being informed by Aryan’s cousin. The body was taken down and sent for postmortem. A case of unnatural death has been registered. Police said they are speaking with family members and friends to find out more.
