Patna: On Republic Day, residents of Patna will have the opportunity to witness the grand tableaux from Gandhi Maidan live in their own localities. The broadcast will be displayed on Variable Message Displays (VMD) installed at 15 major intersections across the city. These VMDs, managed by Patna Smart City Limited, currently showcase various public awareness messages and have now been linked with cameras at Gandhi Maidan to present the tableaux live to the public.

Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) is featuring its innovative Pink Toilet and Loo Cafe in the Republic Day tableau. This initiative symbolizes respect and safety for women, promoting hygiene and convenience in public spaces. The Pink Toilets and Loo Cafes, operated successfully across the city, are constructed using old, repurposed vehicles.
These facilities provide essential amenities, including Indian and Western toilets, sanitary vending machines, rest areas, and small canteens. The canteens offer milk, snacks, and sanitary napkins, catering to the needs of women and small children. These mobile units are stationed at various public squares and intersections, serving the community daily.
The inclusion of Pink Toilet and Loo Cafe in the Republic Day celebrations highlights Patna Municipal Corporation’s commitment to promoting public health, safety, and sustainable urban development.
