Patna University Student Union Elections Conclude Peacefully

Patna: Polling for the Patna University Student Union (PUSU) elections concluded on Saturday, with a total of 8,625 students casting their votes. The election, which took place from 8 am to 2 pm, saw a turnout of 42.62% by 1 pm.
The highest voter participation was recorded at Science College, where 58.73% of students turned out to vote. Students cast their ballots to elect representatives for five key positions: president, vice-president, general secretary, joint secretary, and treasurer.
College-Wise Voting Turnout
By noon, voter turnout varied across different institutions, with Patna College reporting 28.46%, the Faculty of Commerce, Education and Law at 22.27%, and the Faculty of Science at 28.24%.
Other institutions recorded the following participation rates:
- Faculty of Humanities: 28.21%
- Faculty of Social Sciences: 22.61%
- Magadh Mahila College: 28.21%
- College of Arts and Crafts: 19.06%
- Patna Women’s College: 44.85%
- Patna Science College: 35.01%
- Commerce College: 21.27%
- BN College: 19.82%
- Patna Training College: 27.86%
Tight Security Measures in Place
Security arrangements remained tight throughout the polling process. Town Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Diksha said, “Security arrangements are in place with continuous videography of the proceedings. Every voter is being thoroughly checked before entering, and students are sent back after casting their votes.”
A total of 40 security personnel were deployed across the university campus to ensure a smooth election process.
