Patna Women’s College Begins Student Council Election Process for 2025-26

Patna: Patna Women’s College has officially launched its Student Council Election 2025-26, beginning with an orientation session for second-year students on March 17. Held at the Open Air Stage, the session aimed to educate students on the significance of voting, election procedures, and ethical campaigning.
The event commenced with an address by Vice-Principal Dr Sister M. Tanisha A.C., who underscored the importance of fair and informed voting. This was followed by a detailed briefing from Dr Vinita Priyedarshi, Nodal Officer of the Electoral Literacy Club and Head of the Department of Political Science, who outlined the rules and regulations governing the election process.
Following the orientation, students interested in contesting for positions in the Student Council registered their names in the Department of Political Science. The selection process continued on March 18, when registered candidates underwent a counselling session at Carmel Hall.
Candidates aspiring for leadership roles such as Premier, Cultural Secretary, and Environment & Discipline Secretary were interviewed by a panel consisting of Dr Sister M. Tanisha A.C., Ms Puja, and Ms Fiza. Those contesting for the positions of General Secretary and Sports Secretary appeared before a second panel, which included Dr Sister Celine Crasta A.C., Dr Vinita Priyedarshi, Dr Manjula Sushila, and Ms Enakshi Dey Biswas.
After a thorough screening and evaluation process, 21 students successfully filed their nominations for the election. Campaigning is set to take place on March 19, with March 20 designated as a rest day before voting on March 21.
