Patna Women’s College Hosts SEBI’s SMARTs Investor Awareness Programme

Patna: Patna Women’s College, through its Commerce and Management Club in collaboration with the Department of Commerce, successfully organized the SMARTs Investor Awareness Programme by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). The session aimed to educate students on financial markets, smart investment strategies, and informed decision-making, especially for young investors.

Amit Kumar Singh from SEBI served as the resource person, providing expert insights into investor rights, safe investment options, market operations, and common pitfalls to avoid. His interactive approach, combined with real-life examples, made the session engaging and informative for the attendees. The event was attended by Soofia Fatima, Dean, Faculty of Commerce and Management, and Head, Department of Commerce, along with Shweta Shah, Coordinator, Commerce Profession.

The session was coordinated by Gautam Saurabh, Coordinator of Kaizen, Commerce and Management Club, and Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, along with Yosha Singh, Co-Coordinator of Kaizen and Assistant Professor, Department of Advertising and Marketing Management. Faculty members Sagarika Upadhyay, Mona, and Sohini from the Department of Commerce were also present. Sania Ambreen, Vice President of the Commerce and Management Club (AMM, Semester VI), moderated the session, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Sakshi (Commerce, Semester IV).

Students gained valuable knowledge about financial markets, investment opportunities, associated risks, and prudent financial planning. The interactive nature of the session encouraged participation, enabling students to critically evaluate their financial choices and build confidence in investment decision-making.

The event concluded on a high note, with students expressing appreciation for the opportunity to learn practical financial skills. The session reinforced the importance of investor awareness and financial literacy in making informed investment decisions.
