Patna Women’s College Students Form Human Chain for World Population Day Awareness

Over 220 students formed a human chain on July 11 to promote responsible population practices, sustainability, and ecological balance.

Patna: More than 200 students of Patna Women’s College formed a human chain on July 11 to mark World Population Day and raise awareness about global population concerns, sustainability, and responsible reproductive choices.

The demonstration was organised by the ECO Task Force in collaboration with the Department of Zoology. Students held placards with messages such as “Investing in youth, empowering the future generations” and “Earth needs space, we need space, don’t overcrowd,” highlighting the urgent need for responsible parenthood and ecological balance.
Principal Sister M. Rashmi attended the event and praised the students for their commitment to social responsibility. The programme was coordinated by Sumeet Ranjan, Secretary of the Eco Task Force and Assistant Professor in the Department of Zoology, under the guidance of Shobha Shrivastava, Vice President of the Eco Task Force, Dean of the Faculty of Science, and Head of the Department of Zoology.

Environment and Discipline Secretary Shailja Gautam, along with students Shubhangini Ranjan and Kshama Pandey, ensured the smooth execution of the event with support from student volunteers and Eco Task Force members. Faculty from the Department of Zoology were also present to encourage and support the participants.
