Patna Women’s College Students Gain Insight into Digital Banking at RBI Workshop
Patna: In an effort to enhance financial literacy and awareness about digital banking, the Department of Business Administration, in collaboration with the Department of Commerce, organized a workshop featuring esteemed representatives from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
The event commenced with a gesture of gratitude as Dr. Pallavi Ambreesh, Head of the Department of Business Administration, and Dr. Soofia Fatima, Head of the Department of Commerce, presented plant saplings to the guests.
The workshop focused on key aspects of financial literacy, budget planning, and the significance of savings. The honorable guests included Rohit Kumar Chaudhary, Manager, Financial Inclusion and Development Department; Shubham Vibhuti, Assistant Manager, Financial Inclusion and Development Department; and Sneha, Manager, Issue Department.
A notable highlight of the event was the discussion on the shift towards digital banking. This segment underscored the evolving landscape of banking and its implications for consumers. Following this, a quiz session was conducted, with winners receiving awards for their participation.
Sneha, Manager at the Reserve Bank of India, engaged with the students, providing insights into the functioning of the RBI. She emphasized the RBI’s role in maintaining monetary discipline across the nation and elaborated on the distinctions between banknotes and currency notes. The session also highlighted RBI’s efforts in currency management and its initiatives to educate consumers about financial matters.
Special emphasis was placed on the significant milestones achieved by the RBI over the years. Approximately 250 students from the Department of Business Administration, B.Com Accounting and Finance, and B.Com Professionals attended the event, gaining valuable knowledge and understanding of the financial sector.
