Patna Zoo to Close at 2PM Today Ahead of Prime Minister Modi’s Visit

Patna Zoo will close early today and limit ticket sales amid tightened security for Prime Minister Modi’s visit.

Patna: Patna Zoo will shut its gates to the public by 2pm on Thursday part of security measures put in place for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the city. Entry tickets will only be available until 12 noon.

The zoo administration announced the temporary change to facilitate visitor movement and maintain order amid the heightened security protocols. The decision comes as part of broader traffic and crowd management efforts around the Prime Minister’s roadshow, scheduled between 4pm and 8pm.

Authorities have also warned that city traffic will be heavily affected, urging those with flights to reach the airport at least three hours in advance. Emergency vehicles—including ambulances, fire services, and those with official passes—will be allowed to operate normally during the restrictions.

In a separate update, Patna Zoo has recently increased its ticket prices. Adult tickets now cost Rs 50, up from Rs 30, while children’s tickets have doubled from Rs 10 to Rs 20. Boating prices have also risen, with a two-seater now priced at Rs 100 and a four-seater at Rs 120.
