“Manorathangal” is an anthology series featuring nine stories penned by the celebrated Malayalam writer and Jnanpith Award winner, M.T. Vasudevan Nair. The series is directed by the acclaimed cinematographer Santosh Sivan, known for his collaborations with filmmakers like Mani Ratnam. The ensemble cast includes some of the biggest names in South Indian cinema, such as Kamal Haasan, Mammootty, Mohanlal, Madhu, and Fahadh Faasil. Yamini takes on the leading female role, a significant achievement for the young actress.

The series will be available on the OTT platform ZEE5, and it is set to release simultaneously in multiple languages, including Hindi.

Born and raised in Patna, Yamini’s educational background includes a Plus Two from DAV Khagaul School, followed by a BBA from BIT. She first gained recognition as Miss Bihar and later as a runner-up in national beauty pageants like Miss India Campus Princess and Miss Maxim India.

Yamini’s foray into acting follows a successful modeling career, where she became a familiar face in advertisements for major brands such as Lakme, Sephora, Sunsilk, Java Bike, Shoppers Stop, Westside, Nykaa, and Amazon. She also featured in a music video with Amit Trivedi and appeared in short films like “Marigold” and “Deliverance,” showcasing her versatility as an actress.

Speaking about her career aspirations, Yamini expressed her desire to expand her work beyond the South Indian film industry, indicating a keen interest in Hindi cinema and even Bhojpuri films if the right opportunity arises. “This is my language,” she says, adding that she continues to hone her acting skills through workshops.

The series “Manorathangal,” which was shot during the Covid-19 pandemic in the scenic Palakkad village of Wayanad, Kerala, delves into the complexities of the human mind. As Yamini steps into the spotlight with her debut role, she is poised to become a rising star in Indian cinema.

Her father, Yogendra Krishna, a branch officer in the Bihar Legislative Council and a noted Hindi poet, has been a significant influence on her artistic journey. With “Manorathangal” set for release on Independence Day, Yamini is on the brink of what promises to be a remarkable career in film.
