Patna ‘s Mahavir Temple to Distribute Two Lakh Copies of Hanuman Chalisa on Ram Navami

Patna: Preparations are underway at the renowned Mahavir Temple to accommodate the large influx of devotees expected on Ram Navami, which falls on April 6. The temple management has announced that two lakh copies of the Hanuman Chalisa will be distributed among devotees as part of the celebrations.

K Sudhakaran, the superintendent of Mahavir Temple, said that the occasion typically draws a massive crowd, with devotees gathering to seek blessings from the two idols of Hanuman enshrined in the sanctum sanctorum. Many devotees queue up hours in advance to have a glimpse of the idols and offer Naivedyam Prasad at the Ram Darbar.

To ensure a smooth experience for the devotees, the temple management is setting up elaborate arrangements. A covered pathway with iron railings is being built from the temple, located near Patna Junction, to Veer Kunwar Singh Park. Hundreds of lights and fans will be installed along the route, and facilities such as water and sherbet distribution, mobile toilets, and seating arrangements will be provided at various points. Additionally, 13 counters for Naivedyam distribution will be set up from the temple premises to Veer Kunwar Singh Park.

20,000 Kilos of Naivedyam to be Prepared by Tirupati Artisans

Naivedyam, the temple’s signature offering that has been awarded the Bhog Certificate by the Government of India, will be prepared in large quantities for the occasion. R Sheshadri, who oversees Naivedyam production, confirmed that 20,000 kilos will be prepared using pure cow ghee by a team of 100 skilled artisans from Tirupati.

Security and crowd management are also a top priority. Over 100 private security personnel and around 1,000 volunteers will be deployed to assist devotees. To provide a live view of the idols for those waiting in the long queues, 14 LED screens will be installed at various locations along the two-kilometre stretch from the temple to Veer Kunwar Singh Park. The entire area will be monitored through CCTV cameras, and the district administration will ensure the presence of adequate security personnel and magistrates on the day of the event.
