Patna’s New Collectorate Building Complex to Enhance Public Services, Inspected by DM
Patna: District Magistrate Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh inspected the ongoing construction of the new Collectorate building complex in Patna. During his visit, he reviewed the construction progress and emphasized the importance of completing the project on time to create a one-stop solution for district residents.
The construction is currently moving forward at a rapid pace, with completion expected by 31 October 2024. Dr. Singh noted that all district administration offices will be housed under one roof, which aims to streamline public services. He highlighted the building’s design as an excellent example of architecture that will reflect a modern and progressive image of Bihar.
The new Collectorate will consist of five floors, along with a basement and ground floor, and will feature earthquake-resistant construction. It will incorporate advanced technologies, including a solar panel system and rainwater harvesting, enhancing its sustainability. Dr. Singh reviewed essential aspects of the construction, including entry and exit control, fire safety measures, and emergency evacuation facilities.
The District Magistrate received updates on the project’s progress from the Executive Engineer of Structure Division-1, Building Construction Department. He expressed satisfaction with the current pace of work and instructed the engineers to focus on finishing touches, furnishings, and fittings. Additionally, he mandated that clear signage be installed throughout the building to assist the public.
Dr. Singh assured that the Collectorate will be equipped with state-of-the-art security features, including CCTV surveillance and a fire safety system, ensuring a safe environment for all visitors. He emphasized the need for adequate public facilities, such as seating areas, toilets, and drinking water, as well as plans for maintenance and housekeeping once the building is operational.
This construction project is located along the banks of the Ganga River, with its design merging existing and modern architectural styles. The complex will also include separate blocks for the SDO, DDC, and District Board Office, with a central green public plaza and extensive parking facilities. With the aim of serving the public efficiently, the new Collectorate is poised to be a vital center for district administration.
Dr. Singh’s visit was attended by the Deputy Development Commissioner, Patna; Sub-Divisional Officer, Patna Sadar; Special Officer Anubhavan; Additional Collector; and the Executive Engineer from the Building Construction Department, all of whom were directed to ensure the timely completion and quality of the work.
