Physiotherapy Expert from Bihar Excels in IIT Madras Sports Injury Course
Patna: The outcome of the “ESSENTIALS OF SPORTS INJURY, PREVENTION AND REHABILITATION” course offered by IIT Madras was disclosed on Wednesday evening, unveiling Dr. Ratnesh Chaudhary, Senior Physiotherapist and Yoga Incharge at IGIMS, as a standout achiever. Dr. Chaudhary secured an Elite Group certificate with an impressive 80% score.
Conducted over eight weeks, this program is a collaborative effort between IIT Madras and the Union Human Resource Ministry, tailored for medical professionals and senior faculty members. It holds the endorsement of AICTE under the Faculty Development Program (FDP) and boasts regular online classes and assessments administered by IIT Madras.
Dr. Chaudhary proudly emerges as Bihar’s inaugural physiotherapist and yoga expert to complete this rigorous course. His newfound expertise promises to significantly enhance injury treatment and prevention strategies for athletes.
“Injury prevention and proper training are paramount for athletes, yet it’s an aspect often overlooked. Through this course, esteemed sports physicians have highlighted key insights, revealing basketball as particularly prone to injuries while wrestling ranks lowest,” shared Dr. Chaudhary. “Tailored exercise routines and yoga practices aligned with specific sports are imperative. Additionally, mental stress management techniques, including yoga, can substantially aid athletes, especially during crucial matches. For instance, archers benefit from muscle relaxation techniques to enhance hand movement and concentration, while hockey and football players should prioritize cardiorespiratory endurance.”
