PM Modi Inaugurates New Campus of Nalanda University
Rajgir: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the new campus of Nalanda University at Rajgir today. This significant event marks a notable moment in India’s education sector, reviving the legacy of the ancient seat of learning.
The Prime Minister began his visit with a tour of the 1600-year-old ruins of the ancient Nalanda University, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Arriving at 10:03 am, PM Modi spent around 15 minutes at the site, appreciating its historical significance before departing at 10:24 am.
Following his visit to the ruins, PM Modi proceeded to the new Nalanda University campus, where he officially dedicated it to the nation. In a symbolic gesture, he also planted a sapling on the university grounds, highlighting the importance of growth and sustainability in education.
Accompanying the Prime Minister were External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, Bihar Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The event also saw the presence of representatives from 17 countries, emphasizing the global significance and collaborative spirit of the university.
This visit marks Modi’s first official trip to Bihar since the Lok Sabha elections, reflecting a moment of unity and strength for the NDA, as the Prime Minister and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar appeared together.
