Darbhanga: Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a fervent speech during a public gathering in Darbhanga on Saturday, rallying support for BJP candidate Gopalji Thakur. In a 26-minute address, PM Modi launched a blistering attack on the Congress and the Lalu family, invoking historical and political references to galvanize the crowd.

Paying homage to the revered land of Mithila, the PM invoked King Janak and Mother Sita, emphasizing cultural and religious ties. Modi punctuated his speech with chants of “Bharat Mata ki Jai” and “Jai Shri Ram,” celebrating the construction of the long-awaited Ram temple in Ayodhya.

Drawing attention to Bihar’s diaspora during the COVID-19 crisis, PM Modi criticized the then INDI Alliance governments in Delhi and Maharashtra, accusing them of displacing Bihar residents. He questioned the sincerity of their appeals for votes, asking the crowd whether they would forgive them.

In a scathing assessment, PM Modi likened political scions in Delhi and Bihar to princes, alleging their disregard for the states’ welfare and rampant corruption. Targeting Lalu Prasad Yadav, Modi highlighted past remarks regarding reservations, asserting that corruption stains their political legacies.

Accompanied by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and NDA leaders, PM Modi’s speech covered key constituencies including Jhanjharpur, Madhubani, Muzaffarpur, Samastipur, and Ujiarpur. This marked his fifth visit to Bihar within a month, underscoring the state’s significance in the upcoming elections.

Responding to PM Modi’s rally, Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Prasad Yadav criticized the PM’s assertions regarding AIIMS operationalization, inviting Modi to witness the actual conditions firsthand.

PM Modi concluded his address by warmly greeting the people of Darbhanga and commencing his speech in Maithili, fostering a connection with the local populace.
