PM Modi to Arrive in Patna This Evening, to Inaugurate Airport Terminal and Launch Rs50,000-Crore Projects

Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to arrive in Bihar this evening for a high-stakes, two-day visit focused on infrastructure, connectivity, and political mobilisation. He will land at Patna’s Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport around 4pm and inaugurate the airport’s new terminal building, followed by a high-security roadshow through central Patna.
PM Modi will be accompanied by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, and senior BJP leaders. The roadshow will proceed from the airport to the BJP state office on Beerchand Patel Path via Bailey Road and Income Tax Golambar. There, the Prime Minister is expected to meet party workers in a closed-door interaction.
Later this evening, he will lay the foundation stone of the upcoming civil enclave at Bihta airport, strengthening the region’s aviation infrastructure. On Friday, the Prime Minister will travel to Rohtas district to address a public rally, where further development announcements are expected.
The visit marks PM Modi’s return to Bihar for the first time since Operation Sindoor and his second appearance in the state following the Pahalgam terror attack. His last visit was to Madhubani on April 24, where he made a strong statement on national security.
In anticipation of the Prime Minister’s arrival, security has been significantly tightened in Patna. More than 3,000 police personnel and 200 magistrates have been deployed, with snipers stationed along the roadshow route. The Bihar Police Headquarters has issued an alert, and key areas including Rohtas and all event venues are under close surveillance.
Health authorities have also been instructed to remain on alert. Everyone living within 100 metres of the Prime Minister’s route will undergo COVID-19 testing as a precautionary measure.
The Prime Minister’s roadshow is scheduled to take place from 4pm to 8pm. During this period, vehicle movement will be restricted on both lanes from Dumra Chowk to Income Tax Golambar on Bailey Road. On Friday morning, access to Patna airport will also be limited between 9am and 10.10am. Passengers catching flights have been advised to arrive at least three hours in advance.
Patna district administration has already held coordination meetings with city police to ensure foolproof arrangements.
PM Modi is expected to inaugurate and lay the foundation for multiple projects worth Rs50,000 crore, including major works in aviation, road, railway, and power sectors.
