Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch a new Vande Bharat Express train on June 20 during a public meeting in Siwan, Bihar. This new semi high-speed train will run between Patna in Bihar and Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh. The train will pass through important towns like Muzaffarpur, Bettiah, and Hajipur, and is expected to benefit thousands of passengers in North Bihar.
The Vande Bharat Express will run six days a week. It will leave Gorakhpur in the morning and reach Patna in about five hours. On its return journey, the train will leave Patna in the afternoon and reach Gorakhpur by evening. Railways have already started preparing for the smooth operation of the train. The maintenance of the train will be done at Gorakhpur station.
Although the final route and schedule will be announced soon by the Railway Board, it is expected that the train will stop at several key stations, including Bapudham Motihari and Narkatiaganj. The train will have 16 coaches and offer a faster and more comfortable journey compared to existing services.
The launch of this train was earlier planned during PM Modi’s earlier visits to Bihar but got delayed due to pending approvals. With all permissions now cleared, the new train is expected to improve connectivity and bring a big change to the travel experience of people living in North Bihar and surrounding areas.
